Product Release: Omnis 7.4 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Acre Security is pleased to announce the delivery release of Omnis 7.4 SP1. The release package contains new software accompanied by the previously released firmware from version 7.4 for the E100/-S, E200 including their LON boards.

Both software and firmware can be downloaded from our webshop under the Software-tab for both the E100, E100-S, E200 as well as the various Omnis Software alternatives.

What's new in Omnis 7.4 SP1?

The full lists of new features and updates are available in each respective Release Note and can be found (in Swedish) under the Documentation-tab here. Changes can be summarized as:

• Correction to sub departments created by using an existing sub department as a template, resulting in sub departments incorrectly being created as departments (#11506).
• Improved collision handling of scheduled database backups and log cleanup, where the RBServer service could stop if these functions were scheduled to happen at the same time (#11598).
• Prevented the server from crashing when an older client version tries to connect to the server (#11618).
• Correction of the installation package where an error message for "MFC140.dll" could occur when installing a fresh (i.e. no previous version installed on the machine) Omnis 7.4 on a Windows 11 machine (#11630).
• Correction of change history for Alarm groups, where a few fields could be adjusted without affecting the change history (#11646).
• Improvement of the confirmation question for deleting a person from the person register. Confirmation is now required even when deleting 1 cardholder at a time (previously min. 2 cardholders were required) (#11651).
• Correction of the window for passive inputs, where an error message is no longer displayed before the window opens and the icon is again displayed as normal (#11657).
• Minor improvement for the Discovery.exe tool, where the window size is now scalable.
• The event queue setting for the selection of event type (General events, Burglary events, Fire events) is now included when exporting the central unit to a template file.

How to Upgrade

There are different options for upgrading to Omnis 7.4 SP1, depending on what version is available before upgrading. Once upgraded, any potential Service Packs or Hotfixes for version 7.4 will continue to be included regardless of upgrade path. 

From Version 7.4

Omnis 7.4 SP1 is included for all 7.4 licenses.

From Version 7.x

With a valid ULA

Omnis 7.4 SP1 is included in all ULA’s that were valid on the release date of Omnis 7.4 as defined in the Omnis 7.4 Release Notes (2024-11-29), even if they have expired since. License activation following regular activation process. is required. 

Puchasing new ULA

New ULA’s will include Omnis 7.4 SP1. The validity period of the ULA will begin retroactively from the creation date for the original Omnis 7.x license. 

One-Time Upgrade

One-time upgrade is available from Omnis 7.x to 7.4 SP1. An additional license will once again have to be purchased to move from version 7.4 SP1 to any newer versions. 

From Version 6.2 or 6.3

New License

Versions 6.2 and 6.3 will need a new version 7.x Base License. See below list of Base Licenses for available options.

From Version 6.1 and older

Any versions 6.1 or older will need a new version 7.x Base License. Assistance from Technical Support is required to update the database. See list of 'Related Products' for available Base License options.
