This release delivers a set of performance improvements and new features to the Classic Client, focused on making Live Monitoring more responsive under load, introducing a new Event History query tool, improving People search, and giving operators more control over how the client behaves on their machine.
Live Monitoring now only receives the events it actually needs. When scoped to a specific Reader or priority band, traffic that does not match the filter no longer reaches the client at all. This keeps the grid responsive even on busy systems and means Live Monitoring can be left open all day without the client slowing down over time.
During periods of high event volume, the client enters burst mode to keep the grid stable. A Burst Summary row can optionally be shown in the grid to indicate when suppression has occurred (see Performance Settings below).
Note: If Live Monitoring is scoped to a single Reader, it is expected to show very few events. This is the correct behaviour, not a fault.
A new Configure Query panel is available from the Event History toolbar. It allows operators to build a precise query before running a report, rather than filtering after the fact.
The panel supports:
Configurations can be saved as named templates and reloaded in future sessions.
Note: The Event History Maximum Eventssetting is now session-only. It resets to its default each time Event History is opened and is no longer retained between sessions.
The People list search is faster and now finds matches regardless of letter case or accents. Searching for smith, Smith, SMITH, or Šmith will all return the same results.
A field type selector allows operators to switch the search between name, surname, given name, and email modes.
Note: People search uses a starts with match, not a contains match. This is the same behaviour as before.
Opening a Person record — particularly one with a profile image or a large amount of custom data — no longer causes the form to freeze while loading. The image area displays a loading indicator while the picture loads, and the rest of the form is interactive in the meantime. Re-opening the same Person within the same session is also noticeably faster.
A new Performance group has been added to User Settings, alongside existing settings such as Always Show Navigation and Always Show Close Confirmation. Three toggles are available, all defaulting to off. Settings are saved per user and follow the user across machines.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
| Show Event Rate In Live Monitoring | Off | Displays a live events-per-second rate label on the Live Monitoring toolbar. |
| Show Burst Summary | Off | When the system is processing a high volume of events, a summary row appears in the Live Monitoring grid indicating how many events were suppressed. The suppression itself always occurs regardless of this setting. |
| Enable Background Data Refresh | Off | When off, open panels and views only refresh automatically on delete events. When on, panels also refresh when objects are modified. Default is off to reduce unnecessary background activity on busy systems. |
Note: Changes to Performance settings may require Live Monitoring to be closed and reopened to take effect.
