Product Release: Omnis 7.4 Service Pack 2 (SP2)

Acre Security is pleased to announce the release of Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Omnis 7.4.

What's new?

Omnis 7.4 Service Pack 2 contains the following fixes previously released in individual Hotfixes 1-7 marked as 'HF1-7', with the fixes unique to Service Pack 2 marked as 'SP2'.

New Features

• (SP2) Silent installation for clients. This feature allows the installation process to be recorded into a reference file, which in turn can be used on multiple clients to keep the installations synchronized. Further instructions can be found in the manual 'ClientInstaller_Instruction.txt' included in the package.

Bug Fixes

• (SP2) Buttons for adjusting certain characteristics of a Card Layout are once again accessible (#11672).
• (HF7) Fixed an issue that in some scenarios caused a deadlock, resulting in RBSServer-service seizing to function.
• (HF7) Fixed an installation issue when attempting to install Omnis on Windows Server 2016.
• (HF7) Improved loading time for the Door Control-window
• (HF6) Fixed events resulting in database errors 1801 and 1805, when multiple clients attempted to call on the same resource simultaneously.
• (HF6) Fixed an issue where a deadlock happened in the RBSServer-service, resulting in server not responding even though the service appears to be running.
• (HF6) Improved behavior when cards are being loaded onto Controllers via the CAR-feature (Card Automatic Reload) while an automatic dabase control is in progress.
• (HF1) Prevented the Operator's Program from calling on the state of unused Alarm Groups, which resulted in unnecessary loading times building up for the Alarm Control-window.

How to Upgrade

There are different options for upgrading to Omnis 7.4 SP2, depending on what version was used before upgrading. Once upgraded, any potential Service Packs or Hotfixes for version 7.4 will continue to be included regardless of upgrade path. 

From Version 7.4

Omnis 7.4 SP2 is included for all 7.4 licenses. Simply run the installer to upgrade.

From Version 7.x

With a valid ULA

Omnis 7.4 SP2 is included in all ULA’s that were valid on the release date of Omnis 7.4 as defined in the Omnis 7.4 Release Notes (2024-11-29), even if they have expired since. License activation following regular activation process. is required. 

Puchasing new ULA

New ULA’s will include Omnis 7.4 SP2. The validity period of the ULA will begin retroactively from the creation date for the original Omnis 7.x license. 

One-Time Upgrade

One-time upgrade is available from Omnis 7.x to 7.4 SP2. An additional license will once again have to be purchased to move from version 7.4 SP2 to any newer versions. 

From Version 6.2 or 6.3

New License

Versions 6.2 and 6.3 will need a new version 7.x Base License. See below list of Base Licenses for available options.

From Version 6.1 and older

Contact Technical Support

Any versions 6.1 or older will need a new version 7.x Base License. Assistance from Technical Support is required to update the database. See list of 'Related Products' for available Base License options.
